Former Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye has publicly criticized Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) giants, Enyimba FC, over unpaid bonuses from the 2024/25 season.
The veteran forward, who joined the Aba-based club in December 2024, expressed frustration over the lack of payment and urged the team’s management to fulfill their obligations before the new season begins.
The call-out was made via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, where he appealed on behalf of himself and his teammates.
“Because I get money, I should not ask for the one I worked for? Please pay me and the players last season’s match bonuses.

@EnyimbaFC, the season ended in May, till now nothing. Next season will start next month,” Ideye wrote.
His post sparked a wave of support from fans and fellow players, many of whom echoed the same sentiments about poor player welfare and unfulfilled agreements within the domestic league.
In addition, Ideye had earlier revealed that Enyimba players were paid just ₦7,000 per day for meals throughout the 2024/25 season.
This revelation further inflamed public reaction, with many sports lovers questioning how such a prominent club in the NPFL could treat its players in such a manner.
Meanwhile, pressure is now mounting on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the NPFL authorities to step in.
