The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed reports suggesting that retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped and killed.
Instead, the authorities have provided a detailed account of the circumstances surrounding his passing, emphasizing the need for accurate information.
According to the police, Mr. Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel at Area 3 Junction on March 3, 2025, at around 12:00 PM. He arrived in a black Mercedes Benz and paid twenty thousand naira for a one-night stay.
Shortly after settling in, he requested the hotel staff to escort a female visitor to his room. The woman later left the premises around 4:00 PM.

However, concerns arose when Mr. Parradang failed to exit his room after the lady’s departure.
By 4:00 AM on March 4, a military officer, identified as his friend, traced him to the hotel. Upon arrival, the officer, alongside the hotel receptionist, proceeded to his room.
Tragically, Mr. Parradang was found seated in a chair, unresponsive.
The discovery prompted an immediate response from the Durumi Police, who were notified and swiftly arrived at the scene.
Officers secured the area, took photographs, and gathered relevant evidence to ensure a thorough investigation.
The FCT Police Command confirmed that the body had been transferred to a hospital for further examination.
Meanwhile, hotel staff members are fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
In light of initial false reports suggesting he was kidnapped and murdered, the police have urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims.
“We urge the public and media outlets to refrain from spreading unverified information, including claims of kidnapping, that may incite fear or panic,” the FCT Police Command stated.
This swift response by law enforcement highlights the commitment of the FCT Police to ensuring transparency and justice.

Misinformation can create unnecessary panic, but by setting the record straight, the police have demonstrated their efficiency in handling sensitive cases.
Furthermore, the ongoing investigation aims to uncover the exact cause of death, ruling out any speculation until facts are fully established.
The FCT Police reassured the public of their dedication to maintaining law and order.
For further inquiries regarding the case, the FCT Police Public Relations Office remains open for communication.
