An explosion happened in front of Wazir Akbar Khan Mosque at Afghanistan attended by Taliban members on Friday. The explosion resulted to a car packed with explosives which blew up outside the mosque ,killing at least seven people minutes after Friday prayers had ended according to the Interior Ministry .
Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Nafy Takor stated that at least seven people were killed and 41 others wounded, including children.”The explosion occurred when worshippers were heading home,” Mr Takor said as unverified images posted on social media showing a mangled car engulfed in flames on a road outside the mosque.
The mosque is now often attended by senior Taliban commanders and fighters which is not far from the fortified former Green Zone housing several embassies.
