Former Barcelona winger Carles Perez has suffered a painful and unusual injury that has ruled him out of action.
The 27-year-old, who now plays for Aris Thessaloniki, was reportedly attacked by a dog during a walk, leading to a serious groin injury.
The incident occurred when Perez was out walking his own dog and attempted to separate it from another.
According to reports, the other dog bit him in the genitals during the scuffle.
The injury was so severe it required hospital treatment, and the Spanish forward needed six stitches.
Marca reports that the damage was deep and painful. Doctors even considered surgery due to the nature of the wound.
Prime Sport confirmed, “Doctors also considered performing surgery on the injured area.”
This unfortunate incident has now sidelined Perez from upcoming matches.

He had featured in Aris Thessaloniki’s 2-1 defeat to Araz-Nakhchivan in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying round.
However, local sources now confirm he will miss the return fixture in Thessaloniki.
The injury comes at a critical time for the Greek club, as the team is pushing through the early rounds of European competition.
Moreover, Perez’s absence will likely affect the team’s attack going into the decisive second leg.
Carles Perez is a known name in European football. He rose through the academy ranks at Barcelona and made 11 appearances for the senior team.
His debut for the La Liga giants came in 2019, and his pace and skill quickly made him a fan favorite.

His experience has been vital to the Greek side’s offensive play. Unfortunately, the recent dog attack has now forced him to the sidelines during a crucial part of the season.
