Eruku Abductees Regain Freedom After Tinubu’s Direct Intervention

The 38 worshippers abducted during the attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Kwara State have been freed.

The Eruku 38 rescue was confirmed early Sunday by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who linked the success to President Bola Tinubu’s direct involvement.

According to the Governor, the President “personally took charge of the situation,” even cancelling his planned trip to the G20 Meeting in South Africa to focus on the security crises in both Kwara and Kebbi States.

The decision, however, triggered a wave of intensified operations across the affected areas.

Moreover, four new tactical police teams were deployed to Kwara as reinforcements arrived from the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Intelligence Agency.

These joint actions, therefore, created the momentum that eventually led to the safe return of all abductees.

The freed victims were rescued on Sunday after days of uncertainty that kept families and the entire state on edge.

Governor AbdulRazaq described the moment as a huge relief for citizens who had waited anxiously for good news.

He said the rescue was “wholly due to the hands-on approach of President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, who has personally led the efforts to free the abductees.”

Furthermore, the Governor expressed deep gratitude to the President for what he called a show of firm commitment to public safety.

“The Governor is immensely grateful to President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, for his direct initiative that made this happen,” stated Rafiu Ajakaye, his Chief Press Secretary.

In addition, Governor AbdulRazaq thanked security agencies, religious institutions, community leaders, and residents whose support remained steady throughout the incident.

He acknowledged the joint role of all security formations in ensuring that the Eruku 38 rescue ended without casualties.

Meanwhile, relief has spread across the region as families reunite with their loved ones.
