His frustration led to a direct threat against the commissioner, claiming he would “deal with him.”

However, in a twist, the singer acknowledged his overreaction and later retracted his statement.

In a series of tweets on his official X page, Davido admitted that he had been misinformed and emotionally charged at the time of his outburst.

He explained that after reflecting on the situation, he realized the issue in Osun was more complex than he initially thought.

The police commissioner, he stated, had been working diligently with other security agencies to control the violence in the state.

“I discovered that the issue in Osun state was more than the commissioner of police,” Davido tweeted, expressing his regret for failing to appreciate the efforts of CP Mohammed Umar Abba and his team.

Davido went on to further explain that the violence in Osun, which led to multiple fatalities, had deeply angered him.

He felt that the situation should have been better managed to avoid the loss of life.

“I did not appreciate the efforts of CP Mohammed Umar Abba enough due to my emotions,” the singer admitted in his subsequent tweets.

In addition to acknowledging the commissioner’s efforts, Davido also honored the memory of those who tragically lost their lives during the chaos.

This public apology from Davido is a testament to the importance of understanding the full scope of a situation before reacting.

In a world where public figures are often quick to share their opinions, it is commendable that Davido took the time to correct his earlier statement.

His willingness to acknowledge the consequences of his actions reflects his maturity and empathy for the lives lost in Osun state.
