David Moyes Hints Everton Job Could Be His Last in Football Management

Everton manager David Moyes has revealed that his current position at Goodison Park could mark the final chapter of his long managerial career.

In a candid interview with PLZ Soccer, the former West Ham boss admitted he hadn’t initially planned on returning to management after leaving the Hammers in 2024.

However, his passion for football and the thrill of competition eventually pulled him back to the dugout.

“I would probably say yes (Everton is my last job), but you never know how football goes,” Moyes said.

“I actually thought West Ham was my last job, and also because I won a trophy, but I tell you what, I got a bug for maybe doing it again.”

The Scottish coach, who guided West Ham United to their first European title in over 50 years by winning the UEFA Europa Conference League, reflected on that achievement with pride.

He described the moment as one of the highlights of his career, both professionally and personally.

Moyes revealed that one of his biggest motivations to stay in management stems from a deeply personal goal to make his father proud.

“The thought that I could maybe put another medal around my dad’s neck would be something special,” he shared.

“So I’ve got to keep believing that’s a chance and hopefully somewhere down the line that will come around.”

Moyes also reflected on the euphoric celebrations that followed West Ham’s European triumph, calling them unforgettable moments that reignited his passion for the game.

The victory, achieved in Prague in 2023, was his first major career title a crowning moment after decades in football management.

Since returning to Everton the club where he made his managerial name between 2002 and 2013 Moyes has focused on restoring stability and pride.
