Crew Blocks Femi Branch from Leaving Set After Alleged Assault on AD

A viral video has surfaced online showing Nollywood actor Femi Branch being barred from leaving a movie set after allegedly slapping a crew member during a heated dispute.

The dramatic moment occurred during the late stages of a 9-day film shoot and has sparked serious conversations about professionalism on set.

According to multiple witnesses, the incident took place between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM on Day 8 of the shoot.

The production crew had just wrapped up at one location and were preparing to move to Lekki Conservation Centre for the final scenes.

However, tensions reportedly boiled over during a camera setup involving two units.

In a now widely shared clip, the actor can be seen trying to leave the set but is physically blocked as the crew members locked the location gate in protest.

The clash reportedly began when the Director started rolling the first camera without informing the Director of Photography (DP) and First Assistant Director (AD), who were still working on the second camera setup.

The crew member involved explained, “I was hitting the door for them to open because the DP wanted to go out and confirm the frame.

When Femi Branch shouted that they were filming, I asked what they were filming when the DP and 1st AD were still inside.”

According to the Assistant Director, Femi Branch allegedly insulted him by saying his “head is incorrect.”

When the AD attempted to assert his authority to halt the shoot, the situation escalated.

“He flared up, asking who I was to talk back at him,” the victim said.

“As he came inside shouting at me, I told him he couldn’t intimidate me, and that was when he hit me.”

The incident reportedly left many crew members in shock.

Despite the scene being completed, filming at the new location was halted when the team demanded a formal apology from the actor.

“When he arrived at the new location and was asked to apologize, he refused and tried to leave,” the AD added. “The crew locked the gate to stop him from leaving.”

As of the time of this report, neither Femi Branch nor the film’s production team has released an official statement regarding the incident.
