The manager of the demolished Prodest Hotel, Eleme, has been listed amongst the 27 new confirmed Coronavirus cases in Rivers State.
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers has confirmed 27 new cases of Coronavirus that includes the manager of the demolished hotel in Rivers.
The Commissioner for Information and Communications Rivers State, Paulinus Nsirim, who made this known on Sunday evening said the development validates the State Government’s proactive fight against COVID-19.
The spokesman Paulinus Nsirim said: “Prodest Hotel was demolished two weeks ago because the owners violated Executive Order 7 which banned the operation of hotels.”
He further stated: “The COVID-19 Taskforce members from the Local Government who went to enforce the Executive Order were brutalized and dehumanised leading to the death of one of them.”
