Popular Nigerian comedian, Ali Baba, has reportedly been evicted from his Victoria Island mansion.
According to a report from Legit NG, bailiffs of the Federal High Court carried out the eviction at 324A Akin Ogunlewe Street.
The action followed a writ of possession signed on August 15, 2025.
The mansion, which was said to be worth over ₦220 million, was acquired by Ali Baba and his company XQZMOI TV in 2021 through the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
However, the ownership has since become the subject of a heated legal battle.
AMCON explained that the property was sold as part of its recovery process over debts linked to Harold Expansion Industries Nigeria Limited.
The federal agency maintained that it acted in line with its mandate to recover non-performing loans.
However, Harold Expansion disputed the claim.
Their lawyer, Benjamin Olayiwola Sadibo, insisted the debt was already repaid before the sale took place.
“The property was wrongfully sold,” Sadibo argued, maintaining that the sale to Ali Baba was not valid.
This conflicting narrative has left many Nigerians questioning how one of the country’s biggest comedians could find himself caught up in such a storm.
Meanwhile, Ali Baba and his management team have yet to issue an official statement.
Ali Baba’s Victoria Island mansion had long been considered one of his prized investments.
Purchased during the height of his career success, the property symbolized his journey from humble beginnings to becoming Nigeria’s most celebrated comedy pioneer.
