Ceasefire Chaos: Iran’s Fresh Missile Strike Leaves Four Dead in Israel

A new wave of violence erupted early Tuesday morning as Iran reportedly launched another missile into Israel, despite announcing a halt to military retaliation hours earlier.

The fresh attack killed at least four people and left over a dozen others injured, raising fresh concerns just as hopes for peace were beginning to form.

According to Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical service, the strike occurred in Beersheba, a city in southern Israel.

Four civilians were declared dead at the scene, while two others were said to be in moderate condition.

At least 20 others suffered minor injuries or panic-related symptoms following the impact.

The strike came just hours after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi publicly stated that Iran had stopped its military response to Israel by 4 a.m. local time.

In his statement posted to X, he said:

“We have no intention to continue our response afterwards.”

However, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that air raid sirens went off around 6 a.m., warning citizens of incoming missiles, contradicting Iran’s earlier statement of restraint.

The development has sparked confusion and concern over the true status of the ceasefire.

Just a day earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump had announced a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel that was meant to fully end the 12-day conflict.

In his post, Trump stated:

“There will be a complete and total ceasefire (in approximately 6 hours from now)… at which point the War will be considered, ended!”

Trump added that Iran would initiate the ceasefire first, and Israel would follow 12 hours later, leading to a full stop to all military operations within 24 hours.

Although both countries have made statements suggesting a desire to scale back, they have continued to exchange threats.

Iranian officials say they will only maintain peace if Israel stops its military actions, while Israeli authorities have expressed doubt that Iran will fully stand down.

Israeli defense sources, quoted in local media, warned of the “high possibility” of more Iranian missile barrages before the ceasefire deadline is fully reached.
