Bwala Faces Tough Questions as Mehdi Hassan Plays Old Anti-Tinubu Clips (video)

A heated television exchange has sparked intense reactions across social media after Al-Jazeera anchor Mehdi Hassan confronted Nigerian presidential aide Daniel Bwala with old statements he allegedly made about President Bola Tinubu.

The moment occurred during Hassan’s popular Head to Head programme. During the Bwala Mehdi Hassan interview, the journalist questioned why Bwala now defends a government he had previously criticised.

The exchange quickly became a talking point among Nigerians online. Viewers were surprised as past comments were brought up during the live conversation.

However, the situation became more dramatic when Bwala repeatedly denied making the earlier statements attributed to him.

During the interview, Hassan reminded Bwala of a time he reportedly accused President Tinubu and his allies of creating a militia group. According to Hassan, Bwala had earlier claimed the group was used to attack opposition members.

“I never said that,” Bwala responded firmly during the interview.

Meanwhile, Hassan continued pressing the issue. He recalled another moment when Bwala allegedly claimed the same militia group had attempted to attack him.

“He doesnt have, I never said he tried to k!ll me,” Bwala replied.

Furthermore, Hassan raised another controversial claim linked to Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election. According to the journalist, Bwala had previously suggested he could not eat after Tinubu allegedly came into power through a manipulated election.

“I never said that! where?” Bwala responded in visible surprise.

Moreover, the presidential aide attempted to clarify his position during the exchange.

“What you just said now, I want to put it on record, on my honor, that is not what I said,” Bwala insisted.

However, the interview took another turn shortly afterward. Hassan reportedly released old video clips showing Bwala making similar statements in the past.

As a result, the Bwala Mehdi Hassan interview quickly began trending online. Clips from the discussion circulated widely on X, Instagram, and other social media platforms. Although Bwala has not yet issued a detailed response following the broadcast.
