Former France and Bayern Munich winger, Franck Ribery has announced his retirement from football after his injury-hit 12 months . The announcement was confirmed with a statement on Twitter,Friday.
“The ball stops. The feelings inside me do not,thanks to everyone for this great adventure.”The 39-year-old Ribery wrote both in English, French, Italian and German.
Ribery joined Salernitana last September but was only able to start 17 league games in 2021-22 due to fitness issues, and he has been limited to a single appearance top flight appearance this term.
He spent the bulk of his career at Bayern, though, where he won nine Bundesliga titles in 12 years.He also won the Champions League with the German giants in 2013 when they beat domestic rivals Borussia Dortmund in the final.
Ribery has however spent 22 years in football career, played 713 games,scored 167 goals,made 249 assist and had won 24 trophies.
