In an unexpected twist, reports from Spain suggest the winner may already be decided.

Madrid-based journalist Edu Aguirre sparked speculation by declaring, “I think Lamine Yamal has won the Ballon d’Or,” hours before the official announcement.

His bold claim has intensified the buzz surrounding the 17-year-old forward.

Adding fuel to the rumours, Yamal is expected to attend the ceremony with around 20 family members.

His rise this season has been nothing short of remarkable, with dazzling performances that have made him one of Europe’s most talked-about players.

Despite the speculation, Dembele remains the bookies’ favourite.

The French winger was pivotal in PSG’s historic treble-winning campaign last season, which included a Champions League triumph.

However, Dembele’s presence at the gala is uncertain.

PSG are scheduled to face rivals Marseille in a rescheduled league clash on the same evening, creating a dilemma for the player.

If he skips the gala, it could shift the spotlight further towards Yamal.

The Ballon d’Or 2025 winner will be officially revealed tonight in Paris.
