Controversial singer, Habeed Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was on Monday arraigned at the Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, facing a nine-count criminal charge.
The charges include assault, theft, causing harm, and resisting arrest, the Ogun State Police confirmed.
The arraignment follows a viral video showing Portable in police custody, reportedly linked to a complaint filed by his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple.
According to police spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi, the singer allegedly assaulted Ashabi and several other individuals, including police officers, at his bar in Iyana Ilogbo on New Year’s Day.
Other alleged victims named in the case include Ileyemi Damilola, Akinyanju Oluwabusayomi, Olowu Olumide, Demilade Ogunniyi, and Ebuka Odah.

In addition, Portable is accused of stealing a Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at N12 million, belonging to Ileyemi and purchased from Wally Dex Auto.
Two siblings of Ashabi Simple testified in court regarding the alleged assault, although Ashabi herself was absent. The police also claimed that Portable obstructed and assaulted Ogungbe Olayemi, a female inspector, while she was performing her official duties.
The presiding judge denied Portable bail, citing the absence of the allegedly assaulted police officer.
“The officer must be present before bail can be considered,” the judge stated, and remanded Portable in custody with a fresh bail hearing scheduled for January 19, 2026.
Meanwhile, media personality Kolu has publicly sought a loan of N7 million from fellow entertainer Carter Efe to bail Portable.

During a recent Twitch livestream, Kolu said, “Portable brought me to Lagos, I come blow. Na him help my life…” He explained that his concern was personal, as Portable had given him a platform to gain fame in Lagos.
This court drama marks another turbulent chapter in the controversial star’s life.
