The abduction of Dr. Adekunle Raif Adeniji, Director of Administration at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat, has taken a serious turn as his captors demand a ransom of N350 million for his release.
Adeniji was kidnapped two weeks ago in the Chikakore area of Kubwa, Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), by heavily armed gunmen.
The APC official had been visiting his brother’s residence when the assailants struck, taking him alongside three others, including his brother, his brother’s wife, and their son.
Tragically, the brother’s wife, Madam Esther, was killed, and her body was discovered in Ijah-Gbagyi, Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State.
This shocking incident has heightened concerns over rising insecurity in the nation’s capital.
A source at the APC national secretariat, while confirming the development, stated, “Yes, it’s true. But it’s not something that we want to discuss.”
Meanwhile, the abductors have made contact with Adeniji’s family, making it clear that he will not be released until the full ransom is paid.
A family member, who spoke on the matter, confirmed that efforts were being made to secure his freedom.

“The director and others are still in captivity, and the abductors said he will not be released until the money is paid,” the source revealed.
Another senior APC official also provided a confidential confirmation, adding, “It’s true.
This one I am telling you is a confidential confirmation. But we are seeing to his release soon.”
Given the gravity of the situation, securing Adeniji’s safe return should be the top priority.
Authorities and the APC leadership must act decisively, ensuring that no opportunity to facilitate his release is wasted.
