According to Le Progrès, the reported burglary took place on Saturday night while Lacazette was still at the stadium.

It was said that two burglars gained access to his home and broke into a safe.

Items allegedly taken include luxury leather goods, jewellery, and cash.

The stolen items were reportedly worth tens of thousands of pounds.

The incident was reported to authorities at around 1:30am on Sunday.

Security footage reportedly showed two suspects, which led to the police launching a formal investigation.

Lacazette had been a standout figure during the match, scoring both goals that secured the win for Lyon.

He came through Lyon’s academy and returned to the club after a five-year spell with Arsenal.

Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca had earlier confirmed that Lacazette would not renew his contract and would be leaving at the end of the season.

Moreover, this is not the first time a Lyon player has fallen victim to such incidents.

In December, Georges Mikautadze was reportedly robbed at gunpoint.

This recurring issue highlights a growing concern around player security and calls for stronger protective measures.
