The UK Ministers have new powers to impose tough new sanctions on Russia oligarch and businesses but Mr Lavrov who held a meeting last week with the foreign secretary.
Liz Truss has vowed Moscow will respond to any action taken by London Prime Minister. Boris Johnson said the very tough package of sanction is ready to go and Russia should launch a reckless invasion of Ukraine. The foreign office also said legislation laid in parliament last week would allow UK to sanction those Russia’s agitation over Ukraine as well as Kremlin linked organisations and businesses of economic strategic significance .
These include their owners, directors and trustees. The US and EU have also threatened increased sanctions against Russia if it invades in Ukraine.
