2027 Political Tensions Rise as Hilda Dokubo Visits Wike

Nollywood actress and politician Hilda Dokubo has stirred political speculation after visiting FCT Minister Nyesom Wike at his residence in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The visit comes as political parties and their leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.

It has raised questions about whether Dokubo could be moving away from the Labour Party towards Wike’s Rainbow Coalition.

Dokubo was seen at Wike’s residence on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, amid growing political realignments in Rivers State.

The development comes days after Wike’s Rainbow Coalition unveiled candidates for the 2027 elections in Port Harcourt.

The list reportedly featured candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while the absence of some smaller parties raised concerns.

Labour Party chieftain Favour Reuben has insisted that the party in Rivers State has not joined the coalition.

He argued that some members involved in the alliance were acting in their personal capacity.

“If you cannot negotiate before they win, after winning, you will not have a voice.

It is a tactic used by smart politicians to silence political novices. When they say, ‘When we win, we will carry you along,’ it is a strategy by smart politicians to play on inexperienced politicians,” he said.

Reuben also questioned the lack of a written agreement outlining how positions would be shared among participating parties.

Dokubo’s meeting with Wike has fuelled speculation about her political plans and possible support for the coalition’s activities in Rivers State.

Reports also linked the meeting to political stakeholders, including Senator Magnus Abe and APC figure Kingsley Chinda.

However, Dokubo has not publicly confirmed any new political commitment.

The visit follows other meetings between Labour Party figures and Wike, adding to ongoing debate about political loyalty and alliances in the state.
