Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has recounted two unusual incidents he says happened during key moments in his political journey.
He claimed a dead vulture was found on his bed after winning the governorship election.
The governor also said a bird died inside his office after he ordered the demolition of the Black House on Sapele Road.
He shared the accounts while addressing worshippers in a church, where he urged Christians to keep praying.
Okpebholo linked the incidents to his fight against cultism in Edo State.
However, his account reflects his personal interpretation of the events.
The governor recalled that a bird was reportedly found dead near his seat after the Black House was demolished.
He said his orderly informed him about the incident.
“Your prayers matters. F+ghting c*Itism, I praise God. The first, when we break down the black house in Sapele Road, a bird d+ed in my office. My orderly came to tell me. He’s here in this church now, that a bird d+ed close to your seat. I said, don’t worry, just throw it. I don’t even want to see. Because that battle has been won,” he said.
Okpebholo also described what he claimed happened on returning home after winning the election.

He said exhaustion had left him desperate for sleep after several sleepless days.
According to the governor, something stopped him as he was about to get into bed. He then looked down and saw a dead vulture.
“When I won election, Sylvester is sitting with me here. We went to the house. I was tired. I had not slept for days, and I wanted to jump into the bed. Something held me back. I look on the bed. I saw a vulture on my bed, d+ed. It’s not living anymore.
That is victory,” the governor said.
Okpebholo suggested that the incidents were connected to his campaign against cultism. He added that abandoning the fight would have meant turning away from God.
He later asked Christians to pray for President Bola Tinubu to achieve a major victory in Edo State.
“So for this reason, I have also come to the children of God. I want President to win in Edo, to win very big, and I need your prayers,” Okpebholo said.
