According to the warning, criminals are taking advantage of heavy traffic and poorly lit areas.

Some suspected traffic thieves reportedly approach vehicles stuck in slow-moving traffic.

They allegedly target valuable car parts and personal items inside vehicles.

Commuters are also reportedly being robbed of phones, cash, and other electronics.

The alleged attacks have raised fresh concerns among residents and motorists using the busy Lekki corridor.

They have raised concerns about increased traffic robbery and other criminal activities across the area.

The situation has also led to government action around some suspected criminal hideouts.

The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources recently carried out enforcement operations.

The operations targeted shanties and makeshift structures around Orchid Junction and Eleganza bus stop.

Several structures were demolished during the exercise.

Some suspects were also reportedly arrested with offensive weapons during the operation.

The developments have added to concerns about safety along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.

Motorists have been urged to remain alert while passing through affected areas.

Those travelling at night are advised to avoid isolated routes where possible.

Residents are also encouraged to take extra care when caught in heavy traffic.

However, the allegations should be treated with caution until confirmed by relevant security authorities.
