A dangerous discovery has just been made in Lagos State, police have uncovered a secret factory producing fake alcoholic drinks.
The illegal operation was found in the Yafin area of Badagry, Officers acted swiftly once they received credible information from the public.
This Lagos fake wine factory bust led to the arrest of one suspect; police identified him as 48-year-old Anaebo Hilary.
He was found right at the premises during the operation, authorities say he was directly linked to the illegal production site.
Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi confirmed the development in an official statement, she explained how the discovery unfolded during a routine intelligence operation.
“In a continued effort to curb criminal activities within the state, operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, acting on credible intelligence from members of the public, discovered and sealed a suspected illegal factory allegedly used for the production of adulterated alcoholic drinks in Badagry,” she said.

Adebisi detailed exactly what was found during the raid.
“During the operation, the operatives recovered adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, different wine labels and various production utensils suspected to have been used in the production and packaging of the drinks,” she said.
The factory has since been sealed by police, and Investigators say all recovered materials have been moved for further examination.
“The factory was subsequently sealed, while the suspect was taken into police custody. The recovered items have been taken to the station for further investigation,” she added.
Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai praised the officers involved in the operation, he commended their quick response to the tip-off received.
He reaffirmed the command’s dedication to intelligence-led policing across the state, Fatai also urged residents to keep reporting suspicious activities to authorities.
