A major twist has emerged in the case against rapper Jay-Z, as his accuser has now withdrawn her allegations entirely.
She admitted the claims against him were false from the start, this reversal came through a sworn court filing this week.
Jay-Z sexual assault claim withdrawal happened in a Manhattan federal court, and the woman submitted a detailed 12-page declaration explaining her decision.
In the filing, she stated plainly that no assault ever occurred. “Shawn Jay-Z Carter never raped me, I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter, Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever,” she wrote.
She went further, stressing there was no truth to her earlier claims.
“There is no truth to any of my claims against Mr. Carter,” she added under penalty of perjury.
She acknowledged the damage her accusations caused him personally, according to her statement, Carter experienced serious pain and suffering because of the claims.
Her attorney, James Blair Newman Jr., confirmed she still believes she was assaulted, however, he said she mistakenly identified the wrong person.
“Mr. Carter did not rape her, sexually assault her, engage in any inappropriate conduct towards her, and she has never met him. She sincerely and unconditionally apologizes to Mr. Carter and his family,” Newman said.
Jay-Z sexual assault claim withdrawal came alongside another legal move, Carter is also dropping her as a defendant in his separate lawsuit.
That case involves attorney Tony Buzbee and his Texas-based law firm, Carter has accused them of pursuing a malicious prosecution against him.
The woman explained how her case first began, she said she responded to a Facebook ad seeking accusers connected to Sean Diddy Combs.
She claimed her original lawsuit was filed without her full knowledge, over time, doubts about her own claims began to grow.
“In January 2025, I began to doubt my claims against Mr. Carter. I also began doubting that I ever went to a party with celebrities,” she wrote.
Buzbee responded by saying he hadn’t yet reviewed the new statement, he maintained that she previously gave the same account to other lawyers.
However, Carter has consistently denied all allegations from the start, he has accused Buzbee’s team of pushing him toward a financial settlement.
