A shocking confession has emerged from Ibadan, a woman arrested for child trafficking admits she sold her own children.
Adejoke Popoola made the confession while being paraded by police, she spoke to reporters at the Oyo State Police Command headquarters on Monday.
This Adejoke Popoola child trafficking case has stunned many across the state, her own words painted a disturbing picture of her crimes.
She said the illegal activity started in October 2024. Since then, she claims to have sold multiple children, including a newborn and a set of twins.
Popoola gave chilling details about her fertility and how she used it. “God blessed me with the gift of pregnancy. Anytime a man has sex with me, I get pregnant, I give birth to twins,” she said.
She explained how she profited from her own pregnancies. “I have sold the twins to one Oluwakemi clinic for N300,000. She also resells them to her customers in Lagos. She has a baby industry,” she said.
According to her, prices varied depending on the child. “When the owner of the pregnancy rejects the pregnancy, that is when I sell. Sometimes I get N80,000 or N120,000 for each child I sell,” she said.
Popoola revealed she has seven children of her own. She said some of them are already married adults.

She also described how she got drawn into trafficking saying a woman she met at Ogeere Market reportedly introduced her to the illegal trade.
Adejoke Popoola child trafficking scheme allegedly targeted vulnerable families too, she claimed to pose as a spiritualist to lure parents of disabled children.
“Sometimes, I disguise myself as a spiritualist. Parents bring their disabled children to me because they cannot talk, sit, or walk. So, I will promise them that I can help them to heal, then I will go and pick another person’s child for them,” she said.
She also confessed to stealing a three-year-old boy, Ifakunle Ifagbenro, during a festival in Oyo Town, and of the 13 children she allegedly stole, six reportedly died.
