The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has destroyed illicit drugs worth an estimated N301.05 billion in Lagos.
The massive consignment was destroyed at Navy Town, Ojo, following a Federal High Court order.
The operation involved 329,865.585 kilogrammes of seized and abandoned illicit substances.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi said the drugs came from several concluded cases and abandoned consignments.
The Lagos Command accounted for 246,864.535 kilogrammes seized between April 2025 and May 2026.
Other strategic NDLEA commands in Lagos recovered the remaining 83,001.05 kilogrammes.
The destroyed drugs included cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and different forms of cannabis.
Other substances included ephedrine, tramadol, codeine syrup, opioids and khat leaves.
NDLEA Chairman Mohamed Buba Marwa said the destruction showed the government’s determination to fight drug trafficking.
He warned traffickers, dealers and financiers that the agency would continue pursuing their networks.
Marwa also linked illegal drugs to organised crime, terrorism and violent extremism.

The N301 billion illicit drugs destroyed in Lagos represents one of the agency’s major recent destruction exercises.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also reacted to the operation. He described the huge volume of drugs as a serious warning about the danger facing young people and communities.
Sanwo-Olu praised cooperation between law enforcement agencies, the judiciary and government authorities.
The NDLEA said the exercise reinforces its efforts to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs. Authorities also warned those involved in the drug trade that they would face continued enforcement action.
