Lagos Drug Bust: KC Luxury Arrested After 184kg Cocaine Seizure

A major drug seizure in Lagos has put socialite KC Luxury at the centre of an NDLEA investigation.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency seized 184.5kg of cocaine from a courier company.

NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa said the drugs were worth $27.7 million, estimated at about ₦39 billion.

The agency arrested two suspects over the seized cocaine, including socialite Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, known as KC Luxury.

Also arrested was Lawal Kehinde, an employee of a logistics company linked to the consignment.

According to Marwa, KC Luxury was arrested at the Lagos airport after the cocaine seizure.

He was allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria when NDLEA operatives apprehended him.

The agency described the operation as its biggest cocaine seizure involving a courier company.

Marwa said the arrest followed cooperation between NDLEA and the logistics company’s management.

Marwa said criminal networks increasingly use Nigeria as a transit point for drugs heading overseas.

He identified the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia among the reported destinations.

However, investigators are still working to establish where the cocaine came from.

They are also trying to determine its intended destination and the roles of those arrested.

The NDLEA has continued its investigation into the 184.5kg cocaine seizure and the suspects involved.

The latest development could lead to further arrests if investigators uncover more people connected to the shipment.
