Nigeria is celebrating another proud sporting moment after Police Corporal Ezekiel Nathaniel delivered a stunning performance to win gold at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
His victory has also earned him special recognition from the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
Nathaniel produced an outstanding display in the men’s 400m hurdles at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Consequently, he secured one of Nigeria’s most memorable victories at the competition and added another gold medal to the country’s success.
Reacting to the achievement, IGP Disu described the victory as a proud moment for both the Nigeria Police Force and the nation. He said Nathaniel had shown that police officers could excel in public service and international sports.
The police chief said, “On behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, I congratulate Corporal Ezekiel Nathaniel on his historic gold medal win in the 400m hurdles at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.”
