The much-awaited celebrity boxing rematch between Portable and Charles Okocha ended in fresh controversy after Portable explained why he walked out of the contest.
The singer claimed he left the ring because his opponent allegedly bit him, insisting the incident went against the rules of boxing.
Speaking shortly after the contest, Portable alleged that Charles Okocha grabbed him, put him in a headlock and bit him during the opening round. Consequently, he said he had no reason to continue fighting because the bout had turned into something different from what he agreed to.
Addressing his supporters in a video shared on social media, Portable said, “I am a star. I was bitten. As I blew him, Okocha put his hand on my back and bit me. My fans, I am a musician; my music is okay. It’s the extra doing that makes people fight. Come and remove my clothes to see what is on my back.”
Furthermore, the singer maintained that boxing should be fought with fists, not by biting an opponent. He added that he willingly accepted the match and had no intention of walking away without a reason.
Portable also stated, “I am the one who chooses who to fight. I collected money. I am your brand, I am the one promoting you. My trainer trained me. You are not meant to use your teeth to fight.”
Meanwhile, he insisted he had the upper hand before deciding to stop the fight.

“Don’t joke with me, I am a star. Charles Okocha, the biter. Nigeria, America, Canada, Russia, everyone, do you know why I stopped the fight? He held me and bit me. Man to man, I finished him. I beat him mercilessly. I gave him several blows. It’s a fight they said we should fight, not bite,” Portable said.
In addition, the singer claimed the event promoters promised to sponsor his training in London before the fight. According to him, Charles Okocha was eventually taken instead, giving his opponent an advantage before the rematch.
The Portable vs Charles Okocha boxing match was organised to settle their long-running rivalry, which began after their first meeting in 2023.
However, the rematch ended in controversy after Portable left the ring during the opening round. Although he later returned, the referee ruled that he had abandoned the contest and awarded victory to Okocha.
