A barber in Umuahia, Abia State, has been arrested after police reportedly found a clay pot containing shaved human hair and other suspected fetish items inside his apartment.
The suspect, identified simply as Emeka, was taken into custody after a police operation linked to a complaint from his neighbour.
Meanwhile, police have not released an official statement on the incident.
According to reports, the incident began after Mr. Johnson Ikenga reported Emeka to the police over alleged threats.
Officers later visited the suspect’s one-room apartment to investigate the complaint. During the search, they reportedly discovered a clay pot filled with shaved human hair.
Other items believed to be linked to ritual activities were also said to have been recovered from the room.

During questioning, Emeka reportedly admitted that the clay pot belonged to him.
However, he was unable to explain the purpose of the items or how the human hair came into his possession.
Furthermore, the incident has generated discussions about personal safety and trust between service providers and their customers.
Although the recovered items have fueled speculation, authorities have not confirmed that any criminal offence related to ritual activities has been established.
Therefore, investigators are expected to determine the origin of the human hair and whether any offence was committed.
The suspect was later taken to the Central Police Station in Umuahia, where further investigations have continued.
Meanwhile, the Abia State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement explaining the circumstances surrounding the arrest or the outcome of the preliminary investigation.
