“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT,” Trump wrote. “Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!”
However, the message made no reference to a missing U.S. pilot, which has added to the growing uncertainty.
The warning follows reports that a U.S. fighter jet was shot down over Iran. One crew member has been rescued, while the search for another is ongoing.
Meanwhile, Iran has also claimed responsibility for downing another U.S. aircraft near the Strait of Hormuz.
