Tensions in the Middle East have taken a dangerous turn following the killing of a top Iranian figure. Missiles have already been launched toward Israel, with deadly consequences reported. At the same time, global concerns are growing as the situation continues to unfold rapidly.
Iran has announced plans to hold a funeral for its security chief, Ali Larijani. The ceremony is expected to take place in Tehran. Larijani was killed in an airstrike, alongside other key figures. Among them was Gholamreza Soleimani, head of the Basij paramilitary force.
Meanwhile, Iran’s military leadership has issued a strong warning.
“Iran’s response to the assassination of the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council will be decisive and regrettable,” Iranian army chief Amir Hatami said.
Furthermore, officials have suggested that the response will go beyond immediate military action. Shortly after the announcement, missiles were fired toward Israel. Some of these strikes reached areas near Tel Aviv.
According to reports, at least two people were killed in the attacks. Buildings were also damaged during the barrage. Meanwhile, other missiles and drones were intercepted across the region. Gulf nations reported successful defence actions against incoming threats.
The Iran Israel conflict escalation has now expanded beyond direct confrontation. In addition, the situation has drawn in other parts of the Middle East. Lebanon has become another flashpoint in the conflict.
Israeli forces carried out strikes in central Beirut. These attacks resulted in casualties and visible destruction. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has been actively involved. The group launched rockets toward Israel following earlier developments.

Furthermore, an Iranian projectile reportedly landed near a military site in the United Arab Emirates. Saudi Arabia also confirmed intercepting a missile near a key air base. This base is known to host U.S. military personnel.
However, the conflict is not only military. It is also affecting the global economy. Iran has taken steps that could disrupt oil supply routes. The Strait of Hormuz, a major oil passage, has been impacted.
Oil prices have already surged, reaching high levels. This has created uncertainty in global markets. Iran’s foreign minister warned of further consequences.
“The global repercussions of the war ‘has only just begun and will hit all’.”
Meanwhile, the United States has stepped up its involvement. It carried out strikes on Iranian missile sites near the coast. Heavy bombs were used to target positions seen as threats to shipping routes. In addition, U.S. President Donald Trump made strong remarks about the situation.
“WE DO NOT NEED THE HELP OF ANYONE!”
However, there are concerns about growing divisions among allies. Some countries have not fully supported the U.S. position.
