X Outage Leaves Millions Locked Out Worldwide

Millions of users were left stranded online after social media platform X suffered a major global disruption. The outage affected users across Europe, North America, Asia and parts of Africa.

The service interruption began shortly after 1pm Nigerian time on Monday. Within minutes, thousands of complaints were logged across several countries.

The sudden X outage quickly became a trending topic on other platforms. Moreover, many users expressed frustration as they struggled to refresh their feeds.

In the United Kingdom, more than 11,000 users initially reported problems. The number later dropped to about 8,000 as some access appeared to improve.

Meanwhile, over 42,000 users in the United States flagged similar issues. In Japan, more than 45,000 outage reports were recorded. Users in Canada, Australia, France and Germany also experienced difficulties.

Many said the website froze on the X logo. Others encountered an error message that read, “Something went wrong. Try reloading.”

On the mobile app, feeds were either blank or failed to load. However, prompts encouraging users to subscribe to X Premium remained visible.

The platform, owned by Elon Musk, had not issued an official explanation as of press time. Therefore, speculation about the cause continued to grow.

Unlike some major social media companies, X does not maintain a public system status page. Its developer platform, however, indicated that “all systems are operational”. This message raised further questions among affected users.

As of the latest updates, full service had not been restored in several regions, including Nigeria. Meanwhile, users continued to refresh their apps hoping for improvement.
