Nigerian Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has once again stirred conversation online after taking a subtle jab at her critics following a surprising moment during Thursday’s plenary session.
In an unexpected twist on October 30, Senate President Godswill Akpabio publicly read a letter from Senator Natasha inviting him and other lawmakers to her second-year anniversary in office celebration.
The move caught many Nigerians off guard, given the history of tension between the senators.
The development came months after the two were involved in a heated disagreement over sitting arrangements in the Senate chambers.
However, Senator Natasha’s reaction later that night suggested otherwise.
Taking to her Instagram page, the Kogi Central lawmaker shared a video of Akpabio reading her invitation letter.

In her caption, she pointedly reminded her followers that the same Senate President who once vowed she would “never return” to the chambers was now reading her official correspondence on the floor.
Her post instantly drew reactions across social media. One of her followers commented that Natasha should not “remove her leg from the neck of her enemies” a popular Nigerian slang meaning one should keep applying pressure on detractors.
In response, the senator laughed off the comment but left little doubt about her satisfaction with the turn of events.
Many Nigerians interpreted Akpabio’s public reading of Natasha’s letter as a gesture of institutional protocol rather than reconciliation.
“During plenary, Akpabio read a letter from Senator Natasha announcing plans for the celebration of her 2nd year in office,” a Senate source confirmed.
“It was received with mild surprise across the chamber.”
Meanwhile, supporters of Senator Natasha praised her resilience and composure despite the political hurdles she faced since assuming office.
