Galatasaray face an anxious wait over the fitness of star striker Victor Osimhen ahead of their Champions League showdown with Liverpool on Tuesday.
The Nigerian forward has been sidelined since sustaining an ankle injury on international duty earlier this month.
Although he returned to action briefly with a 10-minute cameo in Galatasaray’s last league game, coach Okan Buruk has confirmed his match readiness remains in doubt.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Buruk said the medical and technical teams would make a final call after Monday’s training session.
“Victor continued training. We will see how he was in the last training session today,” Buruk explained.

“It is positive that he played 10 minutes in the last match and continued training. We will look at his condition today and make a decision.”
Galatasaray sorely missed Osimhen in their Champions League opener, suffering a heavy 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt despite taking an early lead.
Before his setback, he scored in consecutive Super Lig starts, underlining his importance as Galatasaray’s leading attacking option.
The 26-year-old was also pivotal for Nigeria, featuring in a World Cup qualifier against Rwanda where the injury occurred.
