“The Muslim Ummah must emulate the Prophet’s virtues of peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion. These values are crucial to building a united and progressive nation,” he said.

Tunji-Ojo extended warm greetings to Muslims across Nigeria and the world, noting that the holiday offers both reflection and celebration.

He stressed that beyond festivity, the Prophet’s birthday should inspire Nigerians to embrace unity.

“We call on Nigerians of all faiths to use this occasion to pray for the peace, security, and stability of our nation while supporting government efforts toward national harmony and sustainable development,” the minister added.

Eid-ul-Mawlid is observed annually by Muslims worldwide as a commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.

For many Nigerian Muslims, the holiday not only provides an opportunity for prayers and gatherings but also a chance to reflect on spiritual growth and community service.

This year’s declaration comes at a time when the government is urging citizens to remain hopeful about national progress.

Moreover, the holiday is expected to provide some relief to workers and families across the country.

In addition, Tunji-Ojo assured citizens that the government remains committed to fostering peace and ensuring sustainable development.
