Speaking to Foot Africa, the 25-year-old full-back expressed the emotional toll the case has taken on him.

“I am calm. Being falsely accused is horrible, unfair. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone,” Hakimi said.

The Achraf Hakimi rape allegations stem from an accusation by a 24-year-old woman who claims the player raped her in March 2023.

French prosecutors have requested the case proceed to trial, alleging Hakimi invited the woman to his Boulogne-Billancourt home while his wife and children were away.

Hakimi stressed that those close to him know his character and believe in his innocence.

“I know the truth will come out. I have nothing to blame myself for, and those who know me are aware of that,” he stated.

Moreover, he acknowledged the personal difficulty of navigating such serious allegations, especially while balancing his professional commitments with Paris Saint-Germain and the Moroccan national team.

The request from French prosecutors to move the case to trial marks a significant step in the legal process.

Furthermore, it keeps the case in the public spotlight, adding pressure to both Hakimi’s personal life and his career.

Meanwhile, the footballer says he remains focused on his family and his sport, determined to continue performing at the highest level despite the cloud over his name.
