FBI: Most Wanted’ Star Julian McMahon Dies at 56 After Secret Cancer Battle

Australian-American actor Julian McMahon, best known for his roles as Dr. Doom in Fantastic Four and Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck, has died at age 56.

The actor passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida, after a private fight with cancer.⁠

His wife, Kelly McMahon, shared the emotional news in a statement to Deadline:

“With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.”

“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends.

He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.”

McMahon gained international fame with standout roles across TV and film.

Early on, he appeared in series like Charmed, Profiler, and Another World each role showcasing his sharp presence.

However, it was his portrayal of Dr. Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck that earned him critical acclaim, including a Golden Globe nomination.

In addition, his move into the Marvel universe as Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four (2005, 2007) highlighted his range as an actor.

Moreover, he starred in CBS’s FBI: Most Wanted and landed a leading role in Netflix’s The Residence—a nod to his onscreen and offscreen legacy.
