Manchester United Begin Talks to Sign Victor Osimhen

Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Victor Osimhen’s representatives in a potential move that could reshape their attacking lineup ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Foot Mercato, “a meeting took place in the last few hours between the Nigerian striker’s entourage and Manchester United,” indicating that discussions have officially begun between both camps.

This development highlights Manchester United’s strong interest in the Nigerian striker, who has been on their radar for months.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in remarkable form.

The 26-year-old has scored 33 goals and provided 8 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.

Osimhen’s combination of speed, power, and finishing has made him one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe.

Although Premier League clubs are showing growing interest, Saudi Arabian sides have also re-entered the picture.

Last summer, Al Hilal reportedly offered €50 million for Osimhen, though the striker chose to move to Turkey instead.

Now, Saudi-backed outfits like Neom are believed to be keeping a close eye on his availability.

However, Osimhen’s focus appears to be on England.

His wage demands of €12 million per year have made Premier League sides the most likely destination.

Foot Mercato confirmed this by stating, “To be honest, England has the only league capable of covering the incredible salary demanded by the player, namely €12m per year.”

Manchester United seem to be leading the race among English clubs.

Club insiders are said to be unhappy with their current striking options and have drawn up a shortlist to fill the number nine role.

Alongside Osimhen, names like Victor Gyökeres and Liam Delap have been mentioned.

United’s preferred choice remains Gyökeres, especially if they qualify for the Champions League through the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Napoli are not expected to let their star forward leave easily.

The Italian side will reportedly demand more than €75 million, including bonuses, to part ways with the striker.

Foot Mercato noted, “It will probably be necessary to spend more than €75m, bonuses included, to prise Osimhen away from Napoli.”

This Victor Osimhen transfer news could be a major turning point in Manchester United’s plans to rebuild their frontline.
