The health condition of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has taken a critical turn following a recent surgery.
His medical team confirmed he is now under intensive care due to signs of “clinical deterioration.”
Bolsonaro is currently receiving treatment at DF Star Hospital in Brasília.
Doctors have reported that his blood pressure is elevated and his liver test results have worsened.
These signs have prompted further medical examinations to better understand the root cause of the complications.
According to the team, the recent surgery was connected to intestinal issues that began after he was stabbed in 2018.
This incident led to several hospitalizations in later years.

Bolsonaro had a colostomy bag removed in early 2019 and dealt with an intestinal blockage in 2022.
Moreover, he was hospitalized in Florida in 2023 due to abdominal discomfort.
Meanwhile, this latest health scare began after Bolsonaro complained of severe abdominal pain during an appearance in northeastern Brazil.
This happened just weeks before a court trial related to accusations of plotting to overturn the 2022 presidential election.
In March, Brazil’s Supreme Court ruled that Bolsonaro would stand trial over the alleged plan.
He has strongly denied the claims, maintaining his innocence.
Despite his deteriorating health, Bolsonaro managed to post an update on Tuesday.
In a photo shared from his hospital bed, he gave a thumbs-up and wrote, “Thank you for your prayers and support.”

Doctors have indicated that he will remain in the intensive care unit for now.
“Motor physiotherapy and preventive measures against venous thrombosis will continue,” the statement added.
This situation brings to light the intense pain and complications that can follow serious injuries.
Bolsonaro’s health remains under close observation, with many hoping his condition improves before any legal proceedings move forward.
