Boniface Reacts as Nigerian Boy Sells His Gifted Boots for $100

Nigerian footballer Victor Boniface has responded humorously after discovering that a boy who received his boots as a gift sold them to a Rwandan player for $100.

The incident, which has gained widespread attention on social media, occurred after Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.

In a video shared by journalist Toyosi Afolayan, the boy revealed that Boniface had handed him his boots after the match.

However, due to financial struggles, he was forced to sell them to a Rwandan player.

“I had no choice,” the boy explained. “I was hungry, and I needed the money, so I sold the boots for $100.”

Boniface, who currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen, reacted with amusement to the revelation.

Commenting under Brila FM’s post, he jokingly called for a share of the profit.

“Abeg, make una find this boy for me. Make he drop 10% of the money ooo,” the Super Eagles striker wrote.
