United States President Donald Trump has reassured that no Palestinians will be expelled from Gaza, following reports of an Israeli plan to facilitate their forced displacement.
During a meeting with Irish leader Micheál Martin at the Oval Office on Wednesday, March 12, Trump firmly stated, “Nobody is expelling any Palestinians,” in response to a reporter’s inquiry.
The statement comes after Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich recently announced plans to establish a new “Emigration Authority” under the Defense Ministry to manage the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza.
Smotrich claimed that the initiative had backing from the Trump administration.

However, Trump’s remarks indicate a shift in position, aiming to ensure stability in the region.
Furthermore, Arab leaders have voiced strong opposition to any displacement plan and have presented an alternative approach, which the US administration has reportedly rejected.
In February, Trump reiterated his controversial proposal to take control of Gaza, despite facing opposition from some European nations.
His commitment to “owning” the war-ravaged enclave comes amid ongoing conflicts between Israel and Hamas.
The situation in Gaza remains a pressing global issue, with diplomatic efforts continuing to address humanitarian concerns while maintaining regional security.
