Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, 78, has been admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., after developing a fever.
According to his former deputy chief of staff, Angel Urena, Clinton is in good spirits and undergoing precautionary tests while receiving excellent care.
Urena assured the public that the situation is “not an emergency” and expressed Clinton’s hope to be discharged in time for Christmas.
Clinton’s hospitalization follows a history of health challenges, including a urological infection in 2021 and heart-related surgeries in 2004 and 2010.
Urena emphasized that the former president is “doing fine” and appreciates the outpouring of support.
Clinton, who remains an influential figure, recently addressed the Democratic National Convention and campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris. Fans and well-wishers continue to hope for his quick recovery.
