Dapper Music & Entertainment has issued a statement in response to accusations made by Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, following his departure from the label.
Shallipopi had alleged distrust, mismanagement of funds, and abuse of artist rights, claims that have stirred conversations within the entertainment industry.
In a detailed Instagram post, Dapper Music emphasized its dedication to transparency and fairness, stating, “After the success of Shallipopi’s first album, we allowed him to renegotiate terms with full legal representation.
On October 28, 2024, new terms were agreed upon, granting him the freedom to explore other opportunities while maintaining a mutually beneficial partnership.”
Addressing the allegations, the label claimed it had provided clear financial records and is cooperating fully with auditors hired by the artist.
On a separate note, Dapper also clarified reports regarding another artist, Muyeez, stating, “The agreement was signed by his legal guardian and witnessed appropriately.”
The label expressed surprise at the allegations and highlighted its commitment to resolving the misunderstanding amicably, stressing that prolonged disputes could harm both parties’ reputations and affect future opportunities.
