Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has revealed how he handles intimate scenes with female colleagues, stressing the importance of professionalism and respect on movie sets.
The actor explained that clear conversations are always held before such scenes are filmed to ensure everyone involved feels comfortable. Speaking during an interview with BBC News Igbo, Arukwe said he makes deliberate efforts to discuss limits with actresses before any intimate scene begins.
According to him, these discussions help prevent misunderstandings and protect both parties during filming.
The actor noted that respect and communication are essential, particularly when scenes involve physical closeness.
He explained that setting limits early makes the working environment more professional.
“I always discuss boundaries with any female colleague I’m asked to act with. I make sure we talk about what is acceptable before we start filming. I avoid touching areas that could make the actress or her partner uncomfortable. I am a married man,” he said.

According to him, these conversations are necessary because actors often portray emotions or relationships that are different from their real lives. However, professionalism must always remain the priority.
“The rumours about me and different women are not true. What people see in movies is just part of my work. The Odogwu character I played opened more doors for me. That role brought more attention to my career. Many people now recognise me because of that character,” he added.
According to him, viewers sometimes confuse movie roles with real-life relationships.
Arukwe gained wider attention for his role as Odogwu Paranran in Omoni Oboli’s movie Love in Every Word. The character quickly became popular among audiences and helped boost his career. As a result, more acting opportunities were offered to him after the film gained traction.
Meanwhile, the actor said he remains focused on growing his career while maintaining strong family values.
