Wanted Notorious Bandit Leader, Ado Aliero’s wife, Mother Arrested in Saudi Arabia

In what is being seen as a significant breakthrough in the fight against terrorism, two women believed to be the wife and mother of notorious terrorist Ado Aliero have reportedly been arrested in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

The arrest was said to have taken place after the duo were sighted inside a mosque in the holy city.

This development has sparked conversations across security and media platforms, as the women have long been suspected to have connections with Aliero’s criminal activities.

The information was made public after Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency platform with focus on the Lake Chad region, posted a video on X (formerly Twitter).

The video reportedly showed the two women in question.

The post also tagged the Nigerian Army headquarters, drawing attention to the arrest.

Ado Aliero, known for his alleged role in several acts of banditry and terrorism, was previously turbaned in July 2022 as Sarkin Fulani in Zamfara State.

His turbaning stirred national outrage due to his criminal profile.

Back in November 2020, Aliero had been declared wanted by the Defence Headquarters alongside 18 others.

Again in 2024, his name was among the 97 suspects published by the Nigerian military in a broader terrorism watch list.

However, it also highlights the ongoing complexities in fully dismantling terrorist networks across borders.

When TheCable reached out for clarification, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Onyinyechi Anele, responded with caution.

According to her, “It is a strategic issue that involves bilateral security issues.”

She further advised that all additional enquiries be forwarded to the Defence Headquarters or the National Orientation Agency for proper guidance.

Therefore, security forces are being urged to keep up the momentum and ensure no stone is left unturned in the ongoing war against terrorism.
