US Open Judo Championship: DCP Olatunji Disu wins Silver Medal (Photos)

Open Judo Championships was held in the United State of America on Sunday July 31, 2022. Mr. Olatunji Disu, a serving Deputy Commissioner of Police and immediate former Commander of Rapid Response Squad, and currently the Commander of the Intelligent Response Team of the NPF. The punching arm of the Force however made Nigeria proud by wining the silver medal at the just concluded 33rd US Judo championship.

Recall that the IRT Boss won gold medal and champions cup at the IGP veteran championship in November last year.

However, DCP Tunji Disu continued training relentlessly, aimed higher and represented Nigeria on Sunday the 31st of July 2022, at the just concluded 33rd US Judo championship. And won the silver medal. Making Nigeria and the police force proud.

Last month Tobi Amusan in Oregon, USA, became the first Nigerian to win a gold medal at the World Athletics Championship. She smashed a world record of 12.12 seconds she had set earlier in the night at the semi-finals with an improvement to 12.06 seconds at the final of the women’s 100m hurdles. Similarly, Ese Brume also won silver medal in the Women’s long jump event.
