Trump Reportedly Weighs Commuting Diddy’s 50-Month Prison Sentence

U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly considering commuting Sean “Diddy” Combs’ prison sentence as early as this week, according to TMZ.

The 55-year-old music mogul is currently serving a 50-month sentence for two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution.

He was, however, acquitted of more severe charges including sex trafficking and racketeering.

A senior White House source told the outlet that Trump is “vacillating” on the decision, but added that “Trump will do what he wants.”

The report suggests that while some of his advisors have advised against the move, the president has not ruled it out.

Diddy has already served 13 months behind bars for violating the Mann Act and could be released in about two years with good behavior. However, a presidential commutation would override the sentence completely.

According to reports, Diddy’s legal team contacted a senior White House official shortly after his sentencing earlier this month to discuss the possibility of either a commutation or full pardon.

Days later, Trump confirmed that he was aware of the rapper’s request.

“I have had a lot of people ask me for pardons,” Trump said on October 6. “I call him Puff Daddy — he has asked me for a pardon.”

The comment drew immediate attention, with many speculating whether Diddy’s celebrity status might influence the president’s final decision.

Just last week, the president commuted the 87-month sentence of former Congressman George Santos, who had been convicted of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Moreover, the possibility of Trump commuting Diddy’s sentence could reignite discussions about fairness in the justice system and the power of presidential pardons, particularly for high-profile figures.
