Transfer Update: Osimhen Ready to Accept Pay Cut for Manchester United Move

Victor Osimhen is reportedly open to earning less than £200,000 per week to seal a potential move to Manchester United.

The latest update from trusted transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano appears to ease concerns that the Nigerian striker’s salary expectations could halt a deal.

Romano told Givemesport that suggestions Osimhen is demanding £300,000 weekly are not true.

Instead, he said the striker is only requesting a salary close to what he currently earns at Napoli.

“He just wants his current salary (around €12m net, £10.2m per season) to be respected, nothing different. Same as one year ago,” Romano confirmed.

This revelation comes as the Red Devils continue to weigh their transfer options.

With key players like Mason Mount already earning £250,000 weekly, Osimhen’s more modest expectations could strengthen his chances of moving to Old Trafford.

Osimhen recently completed a stellar season with Galatasaray, scoring 37 goals and recording 8 assists in just 41 games.

That form has made him one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards.

Despite being offered a staggering £30 million per year from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, Osimhen turned it down.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes this is a clear sign of where the Nigerian forward’s heart lies.

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s hierarchy is believed to be rethinking their wage structure as they aim to rebuild under INEOS leadership.

Osimhen’s reduced wage expectation might make him a more attractive target than previously thought.
