Supporters of the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, known as ‘Obidients’ were seen in mass numbers at Lekki Toll gate despite Police directives and have grounded traffic activities in Lekki , campaigning at Lekki toll-gate.
They gathered on Saturday morning at the toll-gate despite heavy police presence on the ground as they marched at the Lekki-Epe Expressway, chanting ‘Obi! Obidient!’.
Private and commercial bus drivers had to find alternative routes out of the traffic on the Lekki-Epe Expressway, as the traffic was almost at a stand still.
A commercial driver, who opted for all his passengers to get another bus, he said, “Obidient people are campaigning at the toll gate, I have been in this traffic for too long, I’m going to turn back at Jakande roundabout. I wouldn’t be heading to Lekki Phase 1 again.”
Meanwhile one of the supporters @Nkemchor on tweet shared images from the event, saying that police could not stop them.“The police presence at Lekki did not stop youths from gathering. Very proud of this generation. If Lekki is your route join them!”
