In an unexpected political move, a major support group from the South-East region has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
The South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA) has committed a hefty ₦200 million towards his re-election campaign for 2027.
The surprise announcement was made over the weekend during the launch and empowerment event of the SERHA Imo State chapter.
The gathering drew key political stakeholders, party supporters, and local leaders from across the region.
During the event, the National Coordinator of SERHA, Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, presented a cheque of ₦200 million to fund Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination form and other campaign expenses.
“As ambassadors of Renewed Hope, we are tasked with working tirelessly towards the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he stated.

However, SERHA is confident in Tinubu’s leadership. According to Enwere, the president’s developmental impact is already being felt in the region.
He specifically mentioned the ongoing $3 billion Eastern Rail Line project. “This railway development is a game-changer for the South-East,” he noted
Moreover, he praised the administration for creating the South East Development Commission (SEDC), which is expected to improve roads and control erosion, among other things.
He commended the governor’s achievements under the 3R Agenda and linked them to Tinubu’s broader governance style.
In addition, Enwere honoured respected Igbo icons such as the late Chief Sam Mbakwe and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
He stated that these leaders laid a foundation for unity and development in the region.
Meanwhile, the SERHA team revealed it would begin a regional mobilisation tour in August.
The goal is to rally support across all 95 local government areas and over 2,300 wards in the South-East.
“This is the turn of Southern Nigeria to complete our eight years. The people of the South-East will not back down to ensure Tinubu’s victory in 2027,” Enwere declared.
Therefore, the ₦200 million commitment by SERHA adds weight to Tinubu’s chances in the region.
